Almost 17 years after the release of Wii Sports Resort, a spiritual successor has finally been announced, titled Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. The new game was revealed in the latest Nintendo Direct and will also take place on a resort island, as the title suggests.
The game will have 12 sports, many of which are not available in Nintendo Switch Sports. Here is the complete list:

- Bowling
- Basketball
- Golf
- Thumb Wrestling
- Skateboarding
- Power Cruising
- Prop Plane
As an additional game, planes can warm up in the minigame Jump Rope. Players can enjoy these games using a sports mate, which can be created in the game, or using their Miis.
Besides not being in the original Resort, the game features Bowling as the only indoor activity. The game was also available in Nintendo Switch Sports, and from the looks of it, features a similar style.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is scheduled to come out on October 22, 2026. This will be a Switch 2 exclusive, meaning Switch 1 owners won't get a chance to try it. Pre-orders will go live later today (June 9, 2026), a few hours after the Direct, through the Nintendo eShop.
