Here's everything we know about the situation.

One of these studios has been revealed to be Ninja Theory.

According to Sharma's statement, Ninja Theory will be joining new ownership, and funding has been secured to complete and grow Senua. This means that Ninja Theory will carry on in full operational capacity but will no longer be under the Xbox and Microsoft umbrella.

Though rumors concerning Ninja Theory's fate already prepared us for this announcement, it's still a major shock. Ninja Theory is a BAFTA award-winning studio that has released numerous top-tier games, such as Heavenly Sword (2007), Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (2010), and DmC: Devil May Cry (2013).

They were acquired by Microsoft in 2018 for $117 million after the success of 2017's Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, which sold over a million copies. They ended up releasing a sequel, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, in 2024, which had an overall positive reception and was praised for its technical achievements.

Senua will still likely be released on Xbox, as well as PlayStation and PC. As of this writing, Ninja Theory has yet to release a statement on the matter.
