It's been over a decade since the last Killzone game, Killzone: Shadow Fall. Since then, Guerrilla Games has kept tight-lipped about a new installment.

Killzone: Shadow Fall came out in 2013 for the PlayStation 4. It was pretty successful and garnered a thriving multiplayer community that lasted until August 2022. After servers went down, we heard little to nothing about a new Killzone project.

Until now, that is.

New Killzone Reportedly In the Works

According to a report for MP1st, Guerrilla Games is working with an external studio on a Killzone remake or remaster. It's currently unknown which game in the franchise will be remade, but rumors claim it will be the first game in the series, Killzone (2004).

However, others believe a full franchise reboot could potentially be in the works. As of this writing, nothing has been confirmed.

The report claimed that Guerrilla Games originally wanted to focus on Killzone after Horizon Hunter's Gathering. However, the studio's priority shifted back to the game due to the negative feedback it received. They will reportedly pivot back to Killzone after work on Horizon Hunter's Gathering is completed.

MP1st has speculated that the studio Guerrilla Games has partnered with is People Can Fly. Back in March 2025, PlayStation and People Can Fly signed an agreement to co-develop a title codenamed Delta, a project based on an existing PlayStation IP. Though unconfirmed, all signs point towards PCF working on Killzone.

Guerrilla Games has yet to comment on the rumors, but let's keep our fingers crossed.
