A hidden Valve game has recently appeared in the Steam database, but players have no idea what it is. The mystery game first surfaced on the subreddit r/GamingLeaksAndRumors three days ago when user u/TareXmd reported the discovery of an unidentified Valve title in Steam’s database.

Since then, speculation has run wild, with players discussing what this "mystery Valve game" could be. Some believe it's just another Dota 2 update, while others suspect it might be Valve’s upcoming third-person hero shooter, Deadlock. Despite all the theories, no one has been able to crack the case.

The file, listed on SteamDB under the AppID “3488080,” caught the attention of user u/Stannis_Loyalist, who attempted to decipher its origins. Initially misled into thinking it was a Dota 2 update, he later debunked that claim based on key details about its Valve repo.

In an extensive thread on the r/HalfLife subreddit, u/Stannis_Loyalist speculated that the game could be the long-rumored Half-Life project that Valve has been developing for years. However, despite his investigation, the mystery remains unsolved. He has since given up hope that it could be the HLX game fans have been waiting for, but discussions with the Dota 2 and Deadlock communities suggest it isn’t related to those titles either.

Three days later, players are still in the dark. Some have jokingly suggested that it could be Half-Life 3, Team Fortress 3, or even the return of Valve’s defunct card game, Artifact.

That said, nothing has been completely ruled out. The game remains an enigma, and Valve is known for making surprise announcements.

For now, the mystery remains unsolved, and only Valve can shed light on it — whenever they choose to. Who knows? Maybe they will just shadowdrop Half-Life 3 or Team Fortress 3 tomorrow. For more gaming leaks and news, check out Gfinity.
