- Quick Answer: Announced during the September 2026 Nintendo Direct, Yo-Kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain is a revamped Switch 2 remake combining all three original 3DS versions.
During the recent Nintendo Direct, it was officially confirmed that Yo-Kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain will be released on the Switch 2.
Hearing this gave me a Ratatouille-level flashback (IYKYK). I remember playing the demo on my 3DS and falling in love with it - so much so that I begged my parents to get me the full version. While it was a staple game throughout my childhood, I reluctantly left it behind after I stopped using my 3DS.
I honestly never thought I'd have the chance to dive into the series ever again, but the remake is going to allow me to do just that, and I cannot wait!
My Inner Child Is Extremely Hyped for Yo-Kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain
I had plenty of predictions for the most recent Direct, but a Yo-Kai Watch remake was not one of them. When it made an appearance, I instantly felt like a kid again. It was like I was transported to my childhood bedroom, hiding under my covers while playing on my 3DS, and exploring Springdale for the first time. I was immediately filled with excitement.
Yo-Kai Watch is a franchise that played a major part in my childhood, and the fact that I can relive that again on my Switch is extremely exciting. The best part is the fact that the upcoming game is meant to combine the stories of Bony Spirits, Fleshy Souls, and Psychic Specters, making it the definitive package for people who may have forgotten the original Yo-Kai Watch 2 or have never played it at all.

I only played the first game, so I'm pretty excited to experience the time-travel story and immerse myself within it.

We still don't have a release date, but just knowing that it's in the works is enough to get me hyped. I have high expectations for the game, so I hope Level-5 delivers with revamped graphics, new Yo-Kai, and a perfectly interwoven story.
Now, all we can do is wait for further updates and count down the days until launch!
