Arnold Schwarzenegger’s OG T-800 Terminator was a playable character in Mortal Kombat 11, and now his nemesis, the T-1000, will be showing up in Mortal Kombat 1.

The T-1000 will be part of Kombat Pack 2 for the game, and a teaser clip has just been released showing the liquid terminator tearing up Johnny Cage.

Judgement Day Comes to MK

The T-1000 arrives in Mortal Kombat 1 this March, and while there isn’t an extensive showcase yet, NetherRealm has released a short preview showing off the T-1000’s moves and shapeshifting abilities.

His logline reads: “A T-1000, advanced prototype. A mimetic poly-alloy. Liquid metal.”

So far, it looks like shapeshifting is going to be the main gimmick with the character, and he can use these powers to slash at enemies with sword hands or grab at them with hooks. It also looks like the liquid form can be used for movement, and the T-1000 seems to zip around pretty well as it deals damage.

Interestingly enough, the T-1000 was originally played by Robert Patrick, who is also coming back to voice the T-1000 in the game. Most recently, Patrick was also in HBO’s Peacemaker as Peacemaker’s dad; Peacemaker was a guest character introduced in Kombat Pack 1. There should be some interesting interactions when the two clash in the game.

It’s also worth noting that the drop of the T-1000 also comes with Kameo fighter Madame Bo, who debuted in MK1 as a side character for the story mode. Now, she’s part of the game and can be summoned for assists during a match.

“Come with Me If You Want to Live”

The Liquid Terminator was introduced in Terminator 2: Judgement Day and was made to upgrade Schwarzenegger’s already unstoppable T-800. While the T-800 was heavy and packed quite a punch, the T-1000 was the opposite. He was fast and could shapeshift, with his limbs turning into weapons or his face imitating different people.

One weakness of the T-1000 was that he couldn’t mimic complicated mechanisms, so he couldn’t turn his hand into a gun. He also has a weakness for extreme temperatures.

As far as the Terminator franchise goes, it does seem like the T-1000 was the last ‘good’ Terminator in the franchise to match Schwarzenegger’s. Other attempts at a Terminator include the melding of the liquid metal with an endo-skeleton, and a Terminator that was made completely of nanomachines was also introduced.

The latest version, played by Gabriel Luna in Dark Fate, attempted the melding of the endoskeleton and liquid metal again. However, this time, the two elements could split, and the Terminator could be in two places at once.

Too bad the movie wasn’t so well-received though.

Is This the Last DLC Character?

Though there had been rumors going around that Kombat Pack 2 was the last that MK1 was going to drop, the tune has somewhat changed over the past few months, and it’s possible there could be more DLC characters incoming

With MultiVersus on its way out, maybe WB Games has some resources to throw at the MK team for more characters.

The T-1000 Terminator will be released in Mortal Kombat 1 on March 18. The game is now playable on Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch.
