Monster Hunter Wilds’ latest seasonal update for the Halloween season is here. The Festival of Accord: Dreamspell brings in a spooky twist to the Grand Hub, adding in ghastly decorations perfect for Halloween. New cosmetics, including the Harvest “Pumpkin” Armor and the Gelidron Armor are standout favorites.

That said, let’s talk about the big elepha– I mean octopus in the room. The Arch-Tempered Nu Udra is here and it’s about to be another challenging hunt for players who crave a difficult battle. Here’s a handy-dandy guide on how to beat this massive angry cephalopod and the details to its new armor.

AT Nu Udra has a one-shot command grab!

Right off the bat, you’ll notice that the AT Nu Udra has some new moves up its sleeves (or tentacles). First, it can spew a pool of oil in your area and blow it up with its flame attack. This deals immense damage, often resulting in one-shot deaths if you’re unprepared. Second, its other moves are faster, leaving you little time to react. This makes AT Nu Udra difficult to fight with multiple players, so always be mindful of the surroundings.

Beating AT Nu Udra isn’t different from the way we handled its Tempered version. It’s still the same fight, but this one deals more damage and its moves are difficult to telegraph. Having a competent team will bring this monster down in minutes, but if you’re playing with randoms, you might want to time your engagements right.

Make sure you’re wearing fire-resistant armor or any armor that doesn’t result in any negative stat values. Cool Drinks and other items like Armorskins and Demondrugs are essential to survive the persistent heat wave it causes. Blunt weapons like Hammer will find themselves having a harder time to navigate through Nu Udra’s tentacles, so it’s advisable to bring a Sharp weapon like Longswords and Sword & Shield to cut through AT Nu Udra’s tentacles.

Nu Udra Gamma Armor

After slaying the AT Nu Udra, you will get rewarded with the Nu Udra Certificate y. This material lets you craft the Nu Udra y Armor, which is the most powerful iteration of this Apex predator’s armor.

Equipping the entire Nu Udra y Armor grants you a Lvl 5 Burst, which enhances the damage with each succeeding hit you deal to the monster. Additionally, you will also get access to a Lvl 3 Speed Eating and Lvl 3 Counterstrike, making this the ideal armor to use for Dual Blades or Sword & Shield players.

Its Armor Set Bonus, Bad Blood, will make you deal extra damage when the Resentment (your red recoverable health) skill is active.

The Nu Udra y Armor isn’t ideal against water monsters like Uth Duna since it’s Water Resistant is in the negatives. So make sure to refrain from equipping this otherwise you’ll get carted with one or two shots.
