Season 1.5 of Marvel Rivals has arrived, with The Human Torch and The Thing leading the new competitive season. In response, NetEase is reinforcing its security measures to preserve the game’s fairness. As a result, the company is cracking down on the widespread use of third-party plugins, such as the data-tracking service Blitz.

NetEase’s warning stems from concerns that third-party programs like Blitz “inject themselves into [their] game process, giving users confidential information like damage and healing statistics.” You can check out the blog post here.

This creates major balance issues, as players can exploit these insights to selectively ban heroes, identify opponents’ strongest characters, or track Ultimate Ability usage. This puts those who do not use the plugin at a significant disadvantage, which is why NetEase has classified such software as cheating and will no longer allow its use during gameplay.

Players who continue to use third-party plugins risk facing bans or suspensions. While these programs may be legal, NetEase strongly urges players to avoid them, as they undermine the integrity of the game.

However, NetEase reassures players that those who previously used third-party software before the announcement will not be penalized, provided they refrain from using it in future matches.

This announcement marks a significant shift, likely affecting other third-party tools that track win rates and in-game data for Marvel Rivals. With the arrival of the Fantastic Four and a fresh competitive season in Version 1.5, these changes aim to create a fairer playing field for all.

It's not the first time Marvel Rivals has made good decisions like these for the state of the game. They also went out of their way to win their players' trust by adding a new Battle Pass Conversion system, converting their excess BP Tokens into in-game currencies. Additionally, they also addressed and nerfed the overperforming triple support meta in Season 1.5.
