Since its release in December, Marvel Rivals has been a global gaming phenomenon. It redefined the hero shooter genre and breathed new life into it, so much so that it even threatened Overwatch 2.
As the game approaches its six-month milestone with a strong and consistent player base, NetEase is celebrating by giving 40 million players a free skin through the in-game Galacta’s Gift event.
Here’s how to claim your free skin from the Galacta’s Gift event:
Step One: Check the Galacta’s Gift Event Panel
You first need to check the Galacta’s Gift event panel on the left side of your screen when you launch the game. NetEase usually triggers a pop-up for the event, making it easy to see what’s available.
Here’s what’s included in the event:
- 1x Costume Coin
- 2x Nameplates (Doom + Doom 2099)
- 2x Sprays (Galacta + Hulk Plush)
- 8x Chrono Shield Cards
Step Two: Play Three Matches to Unlock Rewards
To start earning rewards from Galacta’s Gift, you just need to play three matches per item. For example, if you're aiming for the Doom nameplate, completing three matches will unlock it.
You can play any of the following modes: Competitive, Quick Play, or Quick Play vs. AI. Win or lose, it doesn’t matter. You just have to finish the matches.
Step Three: Aim for the Costume Coin
The Costume Coin is the key to unlocking your free skin. You'll need to complete a total of 21 matches to earn it. It’s not too demanding, especially if you’ve been playing regularly already.
Step Four: Exchange Your Coin in the Shop
Once you've earned your Costume Coin, head to the Exchange Shop. There, you’ll be able to choose one skin to redeem, but only from the selection available on that specific page. This means the newest skins won’t be eligible.
You get one free skin from your Costume Coin, so choose wisely.
Step Five: Enjoy Your New Skin!
After claiming your free skin, jump into any game mode and show it off, if anyone notices, that is. Either way, a fresh skin might give you a bit more motivation to climb the ranks, especially with NetEase’s newly controversial “pay-to-win” item making waves online.
