The controversial Marvel Rivals’ anniversary event has kicked off, and it’s giving every player free units. This massive celebration is part of NetEase plans to give back to its loyal community of players, despite its strange mobile-like time-gating.
If you’re here, that means you’re also confused about how some of the Anniversary Events work, specifically the Rivals Assemble event. You might be wondering how to invite friends or get Hearts points. Here’s a simple guide.
How Does Marvel Rivals’ Rivals Assemble Event Work?

It may sound confusing at first, but it’s actually pretty simple. In simplest terms, it's a glorified pyramid scheme or a recruitment drive. Players would need to invite other players into their ‘crew,’ and earn points called Hearts. These rewards are essential to claiming the free 600 Units in the event tree. You need 100 Hearts each to claim 100 Units. To claim all 600 Units, you need a total of 600 Hearts.
There are two Heart colors available in-game: Red and Blue. Both contribute to the same total Hearts. Doing missions and logging in every day grants Heart points.
Rivals Assemble Event: How to Invite Other People?

If you don’t have any friends who play Marvel Rivals, you can always find someone randomly between your matches. You can invite them by copying their User ID found in their Career Profile and pasting it to the empty slot in the Rivals Assemble event. After that, you only need to wait for their approval.
Keep in mind you can’t invite other players who already have a captain. These are essentially the ‘crew leaders.’ You must find someone who doesn’t have a crew yet. Simply hit them up with a simple DM and invite them. Also, if you add someone as a captain you can't change it!
NetEase confirmed that once a player joins a crew and complete all the tasks, they will automatically leave the crew and can rejoin a new crew to start a new round of tasks until all rewards are earned.
Once the invites are accepted, you don’t even have to interact or play matches with them. It doesn’t matter who the team captain is as long as you are all playing the game actively. All you need to do is complete the mission objectives, and your team can receive Hearts collectively as a crew.
It’s recommended that you invite players who play the game regularly; otherwise, you’d be wasting your slot.
How to Gain Hearts in Marvel Rivals Assemble Event

There are three methods to get Hearts in the Marvel Rivals Assemble event:
- Method 1: Let Someone Invite You (Up to 200 Hearts)
- Method 2: Invite Five Players (Up to 170 Hearts)
- Method 3: Your Crew Members Completing Missions (Up to 1000 Hearts)
How to Gain Hearts in Marvel Rivals Assemble Event the Easy Way
A Reddit user on the Marvel Rivals subreddit found a simple way to maximize the event rewards by using a closed-loop system. What’s a closed-loop system, you ask? It’s inviting just three friends or randoms, and everyone can get full credit.
Here’s how the strategy works:
- Player 1 joins Player 2’s crew
- Player 2 joins Player 3’s crew
- Player 3 joins Player 1’s crew
Once the loop is formed, each player earns Hearts by completing missions. No extra recruits, no wasted invites, and no fighting over players who are already locked under a captain.
You don’t even need to max out every category. To keep things simple, here’s the most efficient path to get 600 Hearts.
- Join someone’s crew: 200 Hearts
- Invite two active players: 80 Hearts (out of a possible 170)
- Have those two players complete their missions: 400 Hearts
Once you do all that, you will get a total of 680 Hearts, which is more than enough to clear every reward in the Rivals Assemble event.
