The job description requires someone who can script events, experiences, and systems in an open world. As the role didn't name-drop a franchise, it is being speculated that the studio may be working on a brand new game with a new IP.

Others speculated that it could be Just Cause 5. However, Avalanche Studios' founder Christofer Sundberg has debunked rumors that a fifth installment would be happening. In an interview, he previously said Just Cause 5 would be a "no-go" since the majority of the original team were no longer part of Avalanche Studios.
