Danganronpa’s Monokuma could return in some shape or form, according to his voice actor, Brian Beacock. This is good news for longtime fans of the long-dormant visual novel series.

The news broke a few days ago when Beacock shared a mysterious GIF teasing the date November 15, 2025, on X (formerly Twitter). In the now-deleted post, it seemed like the voice actor was hinting that something related to Danganronpa’s future is coming, and fans are going haywire speculating what it could mean.

Possible Dead by Daylight Crossover

The most realistic possibility is that Monokuma might be coming to Dead by Daylight this November. This lines up with the asymmetrical horror game’s seasonal content drops, and the game is known for its well-chosen crossovers with iconic horror and slasher characters. Danganronpa might not be traditional horror, but it’s as twisted as it gets in the visual novel space. Think Jigsaw from the Saw movies.

It’s still too early to tell if Monokuma or even Junko Enoshima could be the killer, but fans are already going wild with theories. We might even see protagonists like Makoto Naegi appear as a survivor.

A New Danganronpa Game?

This might be a stretch, but it could turn into major news if Kazutaka Kodaka is already working on a new mainline Danganronpa game after 2017’s Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony.

A new killing game visual novel would reignite old fans' passion for the series while drawing in new players to one of Spike Chunsoft’s most unique titles. V3 ended on an open-ended note, but fans are still hungry for more of Kodaka’s madness, especially after his recent collaboration with Zero Escape creator Kotaro Uchikoshi in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. That game was an underrated hit and a serious Game of the Year contender.

Monokuma in Killing Harmony

A new batch of characters and the return of the notorious Monokuma might be exactly what the series needs. There’s definitely more story to tell in its twisted, chaotic universe.

With Brian Beacock’s now-deleted post, there’s a good chance we’ll see more of Monokuma in just a few months. What exactly that means remains unclear, but speculation is half the fun. Personally, I’d love to see a brand-new Danganronpa title.
