It's been a long road, but Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact is officially arriving on July 17, 2025.
Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact was supposed to drop in 2024, but things didn't go as planned, so it got pushed back. The game's early builds had a mixed reception, with character animations, balance issues, and the missing rollback netcode standing out as major complaints. On top of that, the game had to go up against Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, which was blowing up and could have left Nen X Impact in the shadows.
Arc System Works and Bushiroad Games are bringing Eighting's latest 3-on-3 tag fighter to life, throwing Hunter x Hunter into an intense, strategy-filled battle. It will be available on PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam), and you can already lock in your pre-order.
Nen X Impact sets itself apart from most anime-based fighters by ditching the usual arena-style combat. Instead, it goes for a classic 2D fighting format with a tag-team system that brings to mind Marvel vs. Capcom. Players have multiple editions to choose from:
- Standard Edition ($59.99) – Includes the base game.
- Digital Deluxe Edition ($74.99) – Features the base game, Season Pass 1, and an alternate Chrollo costume.
- Limited Physical Edition ($99.99) – Comes with the base game, Season Pass 1, alternate costumes for Chrollo, Kurapika, and Hisoka, a collector's box, a special booklet, and an acrylic stand.
Digital pre-orders also grant players 48-hour early access, meaning they can start playing on July 15, 2025. Arc System Works is already planning more content to keep Nen X Impact fresh post-release. Season Pass one starts with Neferpitou in the Fall of 2025, and the rest will follow in the Winter of 2025, Spring of 2026, and Summer of 2026.
The launch roster for Nen X Impact kicks off with a strong selection of iconic characters, with more fighters on the way as DLC. Some of the confirmed playable characters are:
- Gon Freecss
- Killua Zoldyck
- Hisoka Morow
- Kurapika
- Isaac Netero
- Chrollo Lucilfer
- Biscuit Krueger
- Meruem
If you're a die-hard Hunter X Hunter fan or into fighting games, this title should be on your radar.
