Pets in Crimson Desert are limited to dogs and cats, and lucky for you, you come across a lot of strays once you enter the town of Hernand. You can start building trust with your chosen furry pal by petting them.

Each day, you can gain up to +25 trust from petting. You will need to wait until the next day to build more trust from this action.

Another way to get a pet is by feeding animals. To feed them, go to your inventory and discard the food onto the ground. Within seconds, a dog or a cat might approach and eat it in front of you. Dogs prefer any type of meat, but cats are more picky - they'll only eat bird meat, fish, and milk.

If you feed a dog, you will gain +35 trust. With cats, you'll only get +10 trust. However, take note that when you drop food, other animals (and even NPCs) might snatch it up instead of your intended animal.

An animal becomes your pet once they have reach +100 trust. Once this has been achieved, a prompt will appear that will let you claim the animal as your own. Ta-da, they are now your pet!
