Another day goes by and Hollow Knight: Silksong continues to avoid current gaming systems. Fans have been waiting for many years to play this sequel and that wait is going to continue until Team Cherry says it's done. While nothing has been confirmed yet, another rumor has popped up to give fans some hopium about the sequel.
Gaming insider Extas1s claims that Silksong is going to be released soon, supposedly coming out in June 2025 “at the latest.” Like any rumor surrounding this sequel, fans should take it with a pinch of salt, given how previous ones panned out. The game was referenced in an Xbox indie post once, but that doesn’t prove anything.
Most fans have accepted that Hollow Knight: Silksong will come out when Team Cherry says so, they just hope it's within their lifetime. Admittedly, no one thinks this is going to be a PlayStation 6 game or anything like that, but gamers are running out of hope. If this rumor turns out to be true, fans will finally be able to experience this Metroidvania after years of waiting.
For those wondering why this sequel has so much hype behind it, the original Hollow Knight is an incredible game that everyone adored on release. With a beautiful 2D artstyle, gameplay that mixed Metroidvania exploration with Dark Souls-like difficulty, and a great soundtrack, this game blew everyone away.
How good is the original Hollow Knight? It looks beautiful and runs at 60 FPS on the original Nintendo Switch, that’s how amazing this game is.
We can only hope that Hollow Knight: Silksong offers the same thrills and boss fights as the original game, if not more. You can never have too many Metroidvanias and fans are sure that this game will blow a lot of mainstream titles out of the water. Here’s hoping most of them just live long enough to see this sequel come out on a gaming system they may or may not own.
