Hideo Kojima will reveal fresh updates on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach at his SXSW 2025 panel in Austin, Texas. The event will be held on March 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM CDT in Ballroom D, where Kojima will take the stage to talk about the much-anticipated game. If you can't make it in person, the panel will be livestreamed.
More details on how to watch will be available as the event gets closer. The Death Stranding sequel is set to explore more of the world Kojima started in 2019, and Sam Porter Bridges (Norman Reedus) is back to navigate an even more shattered reality. Alongside Reedus and Fragile (Léa Seydoux), new additions include Captain Tarman (inspired by legendary director George Miller) and a cryptic robotic puppet named Dollman.
Tomorrow, the mysterious girl is also set to play a big role, and Higgs, the villain from the first game, is back to face off with Sam and Fragile again. Just like Kojima always does, the story for Death Stranding 2 stays pretty cryptic, leaving us with even more questions as we go. What is known is that the story will keep the focus on human connection, but this time, we're heading to a new world outside the United Cities of America (UCA), where the struggles go deeper than just the physical.
While Death Stranding 2 has no set release date yet, it is confirmed to launch exclusively on PlayStation 5 sometime in 2025. Fans are hoping the SXSW panel will give us a clearer idea of when to expect it. March 9 is right around the corner, and fans will get an early look at Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and what Kojima has in store for the future.
