Helldivers 2 has succeeded so well because it gives players challenges they can overcome with their friends. It looks like the devs are putting the power of friendship to the test, as they’re now making one of the game’s most difficult enemies harder to kill. As the name of this article suggests, the Hulks can fly now.

The game’s official X account shared a cinematic video where a Hulk takes one gigantic leap, before incinerating a poor cameraman. Naturally, fans of the game’s subreddit tried it for themselves, confirming that these massive automatons can “fly” now. Jumps might not sound like a big deal, but when they’re given to agile mechs, you know players are doomed.

Funnily enough, the Hulks in Helldivers 2 were always powerful, managing to be speedy in their movement and devastating while attacking. Obviously, a team of skilled players can take them down with enough practice, but they still provide a challenge. The fact that they jump now does change things, as players won’t be able to just run and gun when fending off these enormous enemies.

In the game’s universe, it was the Jet Brigade who gave these Hulks the ability to do these wide jumps. As their name implies, these are a faction of Automaton-loving enemies who also happen to use jetpacks. Many gamers always joked about them not being able to outfit the various mecha with jetpacks, but that changes now.

Believe it or not, this isn’t even the hardest challenge Helldivers 2 players have faced. It wasn’t that long ago when Sony de-listed this game from hundreds of countries because they didn’t have a proper PSN account. The company also region-blocked various single-player PlayStation games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and God of War: Ragnarok, before finally making them available again recently.

Now that there are more Helldivers 2 players than ever, we can expect them to team up and take on these nasty Hulks. We just wonder what the next big threat is going to be, and if they’ll also have jetpacks
