As spotted by InmortalGhostYT, a next-gen upgrade for Ghost Recon: Wildlands and its details accidentally leaked through the PlayStation Store. The almost 10-year-old game will receive a new version that takes better advantage of the current-gen hardware.
The page for this version went live early, and users were quick to take screenshots and post them online. According to the description, this version will have the following improvements/features:
- 4K/60FPS Upgrade
- 3D Audio Support
- Faster SSD Load Times
- Haptic Feedback & Trigger Effect
- New cosmetics
The description states that those who already own the game on PS4 will receive this upgrade completely for free. This should be a pleasant announcement for fans of the franchise, as a new game hasn't been announced just yet and the last title, Breakpoint, released seven years ago.
The most exciting part is that a brand-new mission titled Last Rites will come with the new version. "Return to a darker Bolivia to hunt La Llorona in a tense new free mission," the description reads.
On top of that, Ubisoft will run a free-to-play period from August 6 to 10, allowing anyone who hasn't acquired the game to try it during that time. This basically confirms that the new version will shadow drop during the upcoming 25th anniversary livestream, as the developer hasn't revealed anything.
