- Quick Answer: A new presentation showcased the upcoming Horde Siege mode for Gears of War: E-Day, and brand-new PvP maps and modes.
Just as promised, The Coalition has finally revealed more details about Gears of War: E-Day's multiplayer.
A trailer and a short presentation were posted online where the developers talk us through both the new co-op mode, Horde Siege, and the classic Versus modes. As previously revealed, Horde Siege is a survival mode for up to 12 players, divided into three teams of four.
The mode will take place on larger maps, different than the ones available in Versus, and players are deployed into a battle in progress. Each squad will have its own missions, and completing them will grant Energy, which can be used to purchase equipment and other upgrades across the cache stations.
Players will have to select between four classes at the start of a Horde Siege game: Assault, Breacher, Marksman, or Medic.

Each class will feature 30 levels of progression, and advancing through it will unlock new loadouts, armor mods, tactical gear mods, and weapon mods.
On the other hand, the classic Versus mode is returning for E-Day's multiplayer, but with a few new things. There will be four modes available at launch, each played in a 4v4 format: Team Deathmatch, Conquest, Demolition, and Crucible.
Conquest is a twist on the classic King of the Hill mode, as there will be several zones that teams need to capture across the map. Instead of rotating like in KOTH, these zones will remain active until one team secures them for enough time to score a point.
In Demolition, teams battle for a neutral bomb that has to be planted and detonated at one of the two bombsites. The last mode is Crucible, which is based around the Power Core, a heavy piece of COG equipment. Teams will battle to hold the core inside a specific zone to score points.
In terms of maps, the game will launch with six brand-new Versus maps, all of them set around the city of Kalona. Here are the maps:

- Outpost
- Battleship
- Park
- Precint
- Market
- Skyward
The Versus modes can be played in Social or Ranked, with the former being the casual playlists and the latter the competitive playlists. Players will get a rank for each mode after completing their placement matches. The Social side will offer LTMs, Player vs Bot playlists, and special events.
The Coalition also promised that more content will be added to the game with their post-launch slate. Gears of War: E-Day is scheduled to release on October 6, 2026, exclusively for the Xbox Series X|S and PC.
