How to Get Early Access for Gears of War: E-Day
To get early access for Gears of War: E-Play, you must purchase the game's Premium Edition or Collector's Edition. Both editions include five days of early access, regardless of the platform.
Players who have an active Xbox Game Pass subscription also have a way to enter the early access period. The subscription already grants access to the game's standard edition, meaning players only need to purchase the Premium Edition upgrade for $30/30€ to get extra benefits, such as early access.
Keep in mind, you need to have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription to get E-Day. Any other tiers, such as Essential, don't include access to new releases.
What Happens if I Cancel my Xbox Game Pass Subscription?
If at one point you decide to cancel or not continue your Game Pass membership, you will lose access to Gears of War: E-Day altogether. It won't change anything to have the Premium Edition upgrade purchased, as you'll need the base game to play.
You could regain access by either resuming membership or acquiring the standard edition of Gears of War: E-Day.
