Firing Range Black Ops 6

The upcoming launch of Black Ops 6 Season 3 means the return of Firing Range, a fan-favorite multiplayer map that's iconic in Call of Duty lore.

The original Black Ops introduced this compact (fast-paced training ground in 2010) and it's back now, reimagined and remastered for a new era.

The map's return has been officially confirmed by Treyarch, with it launching for all players on April 2, 2025.

It's been a while since we last saw the Firing Range in a mainline title, not since Black Ops 4, so its return is a win for fans hoping for more classic content.

Treyarch has revamped the map with new visuals but kept the original layout and flow the same. The idea is to deliver that nostalgic feel without sacrificing the visual polish or performance expected from today's titles.

Expect narrow turns, layered views, and that familiar adrenaline-fueled rush the map is famous for. Firing Range is only one part of the puzzle, and Season 3 is looking solid across the board.

Treyarch and Activision are releasing a huge content drop with the return of Demolition and Sharpshooter multiplayer modes, a set of Modern Warfare-era weapons like the Kilo 141, CR-56 AMAX, and HDR, and the revival of Verdansk in Warzone, which won't go live until April 3.

Multiplayer fans can dive in a day early, while newcomers can experience Black Ops 6 for free from April 2 to 3 during a special access period while Warzone servers are prepared.

It lets new players try the revamped experience, while longtime fans dive into what could be one of the best seasons yet.

The complete Season 3 roadmap is expected to drop on March 27. While the Zombies content remains a mystery, leaks suggest there could be four to six new multiplayer maps, including possible remasters like Firing Range.

We don't know yet if the rest of the update will hit that same balance between nostalgia and innovation, but it's clear Treyarch aims to appeal to returning players while adding something new.

If Call of Duty's classic energy has been missing for you, the return of Firing Range might be the perfect excuse to jump back in.
