Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave follows the journey of four heroes who compete in the Heroic Games. The game is set in the fictional empire of Dagda - predominantly in the capital city of Dagsion - in 1449.
Who you choose to play shapes the story. The four lead characters are Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda. Each has their own motives for joining the games. It is possible for you to play their stories in parallel by visiting the Pale Raven's Perch. This will allow you to swap between heroes and create save files for each route.
After the heroic games, there will be a five-year time jump to 1454. At this time, Dagda is in crisis due to the revived demon gods - even the heroes from the games have vanished. The Progenitor God Sothis summons one spirit - you - to save Dagda.

There are plenty of weapons to choose from, including swords, gauntlets, spears, axes, bows, and magic. Your allies can range from different classes, from beginner to advanced.
The four heroes can also use Combat Arts to unleash attacks with advantageous benefits or Blaze, which consumes part of their soul to unleash major damage.
If an ally falls in battle, you can rewind to any previous point to revive them and plan a better attack.
What Else Can You Do in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave?
In between matches, you will have free time. You'll receive intel about your opponents and can then decide if you want to spend time in Dagsion or outside the capital to train.
In Dagsion, you can visit the area to train or spectate on your opponents. You can also go to the Shopping Arcade to purchase weapons and tools or enhance what you already have. There are also quests you need to complete within a deadline to receive rewards.
The capital is also home to Temple Row, which encloses seven temples, and depending on which you volunteer in, you can receive a blessing in battle. Dagsion also offers Certification Exams so that your heroes can earn a class.

You can visit different towns to purchase local wares or gather intel. Travelling with your allies improves their abilities, as enemies will frequently appear on the map. If you choose to engage, this triggers a skirmish.
The world map is also home to dungeons, where you can collect materials and treasures. If you fight enemies in dungeons, you can play turn-based clashes and explore the hero-specific talents.
