33 Immortals

33 Immortals is coming to Early Access on March 18, 2025, and Thunder Lotus Games is bringing something new to the roguelike world.

The studio, known for the emotional Spiritfarer, is taking a bold turn with fast-paced, large-scale multiplayer action. This new game takes a page from The Divine Comedy, throwing players into the role of damned souls fighting against divine judgment just to escape the afterlife.

Instead of the usual solo or small-team focus in roguelikes, 33 Immortals throws 33 players together in an online co-op raid-style adventure. This game channels the intensity of MMO raids while ensuring the action remains swift and user-friendly. Each run starts way down in Hell, where you’ll fight through Torture Chambers and face off against some of the most infamous figures from myth.

A single run in 33 Immortals is designed to last around 25 minutes, making it shorter and more approachable than traditional MMO-style raids. 33 Immortals sets itself apart visually with a hand-drawn 2D art style that draws heavy inspiration from medieval religious artwork. Thunder Lotus drew inspiration from Dante’s era, adding visuals that feel like classic takes on Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven.

The Early Access release of 33 Immortals will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for PC and Xbox Series X|S. Xbox Game Pass members will be able to play the game as soon as it launches. The game has been through a few beta tests over the years, with Thunder Lotus tweaking things based on player feedback.

As Early Access gets closer, the developers are all in on delivering an exciting and new co-op roguelike experience.
