Modern Warfare 4 is the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise, continuing where the story left off with Sledgehammer's Modern Warfare 3 (the 2023 game, of course).

The game will feature the classic multiplayer mode and the return of DMZ as its third major mode, giving Zombies a break for this year after being the third major mode in the last three titles.

Those planning to enjoy the game with friends on other platforms might be wondering if the game will support crossplay. Here is everything we know about it.

Does Modern Warfare 4 Have Crossplay?

Although it hasn't been officially announced at the time of writing, Modern Warfare 4 will most likely support crossplay across the different platforms.

All Call of Duty games have featured crossplay since it was first introduced in 2019, when the Modern Warfare reboot released.

The game is launching exclusively on the current-gen consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S), PC, and, for the first time since 2013, on a Nintendo console with the Switch 2 version. Given that the Switch 2 is confirmed to be a complete port with no compromises, the crossplay should cover all platforms without exception.

We will have to wait and see how Infinity Ward plans to implement the feature and whether it will offer the option to disable crossplay on any platform. After all, not all console players would want to play with PC users, or even Switch players since they will have mouse support through the Joy-Cons.

Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to come out on Friday, October 23. Players who pre-order any of the game's editions will receive early access to the campaign starting on October 16, a week before launch.
