While Marvel fans will get to enjoy Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, DC just announced its very own tag fighter: the free-to-play mobile DCKO.
Announced on July 20, the DCKO social media showcased a trailer featuring some of the mechanics the game would boast, as well as the DC heroes players could choose to form their teams. It is a tag fighter at heart, with extended combos, assists, and more.
For a mobile game, it doesn’t look completely terrible. There’s some thought put into character animations, and it’s got pretty visuals for key moments like supers. In fact, the game will feature both tag combos and tag supers, similar to DHCs in Marvel vs Capcom 3 or Dragon Ball FighterZ.
Beyond being a tag fighter, DCKO will have a single-player content offering that looks to be a roguelite with some story elements. Not much is known, so hopefully more information is revealed in the coming months.
As for the confirmed roster characters thus far, the selection is actually decent. There will be 19 launch characters with more coming monthly. The revealed characters thus far are:
