Little is known about the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, but it looks like creator Mike Pondsmith may have revealed something huge. The creator of this franchise has accidentally confirmed that Project Orion will have two cities, so we’re getting an even bigger open world. If this game can launch without issue, two cities could be beneficial.

Pondsmith appeared at the Digital Dragons conference (via TVGry), where he was naturally asked about the next Cyberpunk game. While he didn’t talk about the gameplay, Pondsmith did confirm that this sequel is going to have two cities. He did confirm that Night City would still be around, but there’s also another one that’s going to be “Chicago gone wrong.”

Here’s what Pondsmith said about two cities in the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel:

There's another city we visit - Night City is still there. I remember looking at it and thinking, "yeah, I get the vibe you're going for and it works; it doesn't feel like Blade Runner, it's more like Chicago gone wrong."

With two cities to explore, this could double the content and quests already in the game. Traveling between two hub areas should be fun, giving this game a huge scope that could rival GTA 6. Here’s hoping that Project Orion lives up to this potential, because there’s a lot here that can be done.

The only other details we know about Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel are that it might be first-person again, which is slightly disappointing. Sure, the focus on shooting gives it purpose, but the original game wasting so much customization and relegating us to an FPS view still stings. Here’s hoping they introduce a third-person mode, at the least.
