  • Quick Answer: Crimson Desert will feature five performance tiers on PC and several performance modes on consoles.

Crimson Desert, the open-world adventure game, is only days away from its release, and developer Pearl Abyss has detailed the performance specifications for the title across the different platforms it will be available.

Whether you have a console or a PC and plan to try out the new title, we have prepared a guide with all the information about the game's requirements and performance.

PC

For PC users, the game will have four tiers of performance: Minimum, Low, Recommended, High, and Ultra. The following chart lists all the system requirements to run each of the graphical tiers smoothly:

DirectX 12 is required for all tiers, as specified below the chart. As you can see, most of the components required are aligned with today's standard, although it is probably on the expensive side to meet the requirements to run the game in Ultra, especially with how pricey Nvidia chips have been.

The specs also confirmed that the game will be around 150 GB on launch, but we expect this size to increase with post-launch content.

Consoles

On consoles, the story is a bit different since you won't have to worry about meeting the system requirements. However, the game's performance will depend on the console you own.

The game will have three graphical settings on each console: Performance, Balance, and Quality. Here is how each setting will run the game on each console:

ROG Xbox Ally S|X

The game will also be available on the ROG Xbox Ally, Xbox's portable solution, and the developers have revealed how the performance will be in each model.

The Ally S can only run the game in the Performance setting, as it's more hardware-constrained than its sister. On the other hand, the Ally X will have access to all three graphical settings.

Here is how the game will run on each device, depending on the graphical setting selected:

MAC

The game will also be available on recent MAC models, and this port will have four major graphical configurations. The 2023 MacBook Pro and Mac mini are the earliest models that can run the game, as these come with an M2 Pro chip. However, the M2 Pro chip is only capable of running the game in its minimal graphics setting.

Here is the full list of specifications, detailing what graphical settings each set can run properly:
