We first caught wind of a Crimson Desert DLC in Pearl Abyss's Q26 Earnings Letter. At the time, they stated the DLC was in the works. Not long after, the Charting the Unknown DLC was announced during Sony's September State of Play.

After a small delay, Greymanes will finally be able to play the DLC on October 29, 2026. Here's everything you need to know about Charting the Unknown.

What to Expect in Crimson Desert's First DLC

Crimson Desert's first DLC, Charting the Unknown, allows players to explore both Pywel's lands and seas. The expansion will feature new adventures and more ways for you to make your mark as you explore.

Charting the Unknown will feature new boss fights. These formidable foes are waiting for you on both land and sea, bringing new dangers you need to overcome. To beat them, you'll need to adapt your tactics. Pearl Abyss has stated that they may be "your fiercest battles yet." There will also be three new storylines, one each for Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane.

One of the most unique things you'll be able to do is explore the ocean. You'll be able to build and command your own ship and set sail to explore new islands. Additionally, you'll be able to dive underwater to score treasure, discover sunken ruins, and uncover hidden mysteries.

The DLC will continue on from Crimson Desert's story post-ending. The Pearl Abyss website reads, "New stories unfold across Pywel—from an ominous presence in the desert and a dangerous political conflict to a journey beyond time and an ancient secret beneath the waves. Follow Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane as they forge their own paths forward, discover their purpose, and shape their destinies."

Charting the Unknown will also allow you to rent and manage properties, build a home, and forge deeper bonds with people across Pywel. And yes - this includes romance.

Charting the Unknown Pre-Order Bonus

If you pre-order the DLC, you'll secure cosmetics for Kliff, Oongka, and Damiane.
