With Rockstar finally lifting the lid on more characters in GTA 6, it didn't take long for fans to zero in on Cal Hampton—a recluse with a knack for conspiracy theories and a few tattoos that are raising some very curious eyebrows.
Among them is one particular piece inked on his arm that has players convinced it's more than just an edgy design. The stitched eye, torn ear, and distorted snout resemble Piggsy, the infamous antagonist from Manhunt, Rockstar's most disturbing title to date.
The idea first surfaced thanks to GTAVIoclock on X, who made a connection between the tattoo and Piggsy's official concept art and action figure. Once they were overlaid, the similarities became glaringly obvious. In Manhunt, Piggsy was a deranged killer who wore a grotesque pig's head and wielded a chainsaw, serving as the game's nightmarish final foe.
Even though GTA and Manhunt belong to separate worlds, Rockstar often references its history in ways that blur the lines between them. With everything from alien artifacts to cryptic ghost sightings, fans expect the strange. Cal's design fits right in with that tradition.
The tattoo in question doesn't show up in every frame, but in that one specific screenshot where Cal is shirtless, it's there in full view. He also has another tattoo of an alien ripping off a human disguise, along with a depiction of what looks like a plesiosaur. This might hint at cryptids or hidden mysteries within Vice City's world.
His bio from Rockstar's site also backs this up. Cal is described as someone who spends his time snooping on Coast Guard radio signals and digging through shady browser tabs. He's the type of person who swears by every urban legend—and he could hold the key to unlocking GTA 6's weirdest mysteries.
This places Cal in a territory that Rockstar fans know well, as the studio has always featured at least one character who is fascinated by the bizarre. Look at figures like The Truth in San Andreas, Lester from GTA V, and Ron's conspiracy-filled rants.
It's Cal's visible beliefs that make him stand out, inked on his body, revealed in his dialogue, and even teased through the environmental storytelling of the second trailer. Piggsy probably won't return because Manhunt wrapped up with his grisly death decades ago, but his legacy lives on.
It's possible Rockstar is using Cal's tattoos to signal that the worlds are closer than before. It could either be a preview for an urban legend mission or a piece of lore to flesh things out. But if Rockstar's past behavior is anything to go by, there's a deeper mystery waiting beneath the surface—and Cal is smack in the middle of it.
GTA 6 seems ready to fill its world with a multitude of random events, odd landmarks, and callbacks to previous titles. Whether it's a Loch Ness-style lake creature, a hidden alien subplot, or a serial killer Easter egg, Cal might be the tip of a much darker iceberg. And if his tattoos are any indication, Rockstar's not done playing with the ghosts of its past.
