Last year saw the release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but fans know that Square Enix is planning to release three games completing this new take on Cloud’s story. While we don’t have any official updates from Square yet, a fan has spotted an update regarding FFVII Remake Part 3 thanks to Cloud voice actor Cody Christian.
According to one of Christian’s Instagram stories, he may have already started working on the third Final Fantasy VII game.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Underway?

Admittedly, it’s not official confirmation that Christian is back to work on Final Fantasy VII, but some think that the timeline definitely fits—especially with the lengthy development that is being expected with the FFVII Remake games.
How Long Before the Third Game
Just looking at the release dates, Remake came out in 2020, and fans had to wait four years until the release of Rebirth last year. With that in mind, it’s possible that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 could be aiming for a release in 2028.
Then again, it’s possible that plans could change since this trilogy has been planned for a while; but knowing Square, it’s very likely that they’re going to be delaying releases to make sure that the product is as polished as it could be by the time it goes out to the market.
More Remakes Down the Line?
With the success of FFVII Remake, some have been speculating that Square Enix could be cooking up some more remakes down the line. We know that a remake of FFIX is underway, but it probably won’t be in the same vein as the FFVII Remake.
Until Square reveals more, all we can really do is guess, but with FFVII Remake aiming to close its trilogy, the devs could be looking for the next big title to rework while they bide their time on the next mainline entry.
