- Quick Answer: Capcom is exploring revivals of dormant classic franchises, though a new Dino Crisis game or remake has not been officially announced yet.
In a recent press release celebrating Onimusha: Way of the Sword selling over one million copies, Capcom has revealed that they are focused on reviving additional IPs that haven't had a new game recently - similar to how they revived Onimusha after nearly 25 years.
Capcom will reportedly be working to maximize its corporate value by leveraging its wide library of IPs. This makes a lot of sense - Capcom may be known for Resident Evil and Street Fighter, but they have plenty of franchises that haven't been touched in decades.
Considering Capcom is eager to start bringing back old IPs, may I suggest they revive Dino Crisis next? It's a childhood franchise that still has a place in gamers' hearts, and we haven't had a new title since 2003.
Capcom, Please Bring Back Dino Crisis
We all know that Capcom does horror well; we've seen it with the Resident Evil franchise. Well, how about horror AND dinosaurs? It's horror mixed with relentless, fast-moving predators that actively stalk you. Introducing Dino Crisis.

Dino Crisis features the same dynamic lighting, claustrophobic level designs, and the over-the-shoulder perspective as Resident Evil, but the tension is through the roof. Zombies allow you to line up your shots - dinosaurs don't. In fact, they will actively flank you, burst through windows, and chase you across room transitions.

It's terrifying. And yet, oh so fun. I remember playing the first game and feeling my heart drop to my stomach as a T-Rex smashed through a second-story office window on Ibis Island. I hope Capcom can bring this series back to life and allow me to experience this moment again with better graphics.

The beauty of Dino Crisis isn't just how intense the fighting can be. It's how the environment became your primary survival tool. During the first game, you'd have to trap a raptor behind a red laser shutter while trying to input the right code to escape the room. It was heart-racing navigating Dr. Kirk's research vaults with 1999 graphics. Imagine how it would be with the tech we have now.

I understand why Capcom abandoned Dino Crisis after the third installment in 2003. Let's be real - bringing the genre into deep space was a weird approach. However, I think a modern remake of the first game would be great. Give us the panic we experienced on Ibis Island with a large, cinematic scale, and I promise we'll eat it up.
Capcom has proven with Onimusha: Way of the Sword that they can bring back past IPs with new, cutting-edge modern experiences. With that in mind, it’s time to boot up the Third Energy reactor and bring Dino Crisis back to life.
