Capcom Must Bring Back This One Fan-Favorite Character for Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom must be seething knowing their worst-kept secret is out in the wilds right now. If you don’t want to get spoiled by Resident Evil Requiem’s biggest surprise, you can skip this piece entirely and go about your day.

It’s official: Leon Kennedy is in Resident Evil Requiem, and it is hardly surprising given all the rumors that circulated months prior. After PlayStation fumbled and leaked the cover art for Requiem, there’s no doubt the former RPD rookie is making his much-anticipated return in the modern timeline.

As far as gaming reunions go, another character must return to the series, and it’s none other than Leon’s estranged lover, Ada Wong.

Will Ada Wong Return to Resident Evil Requiem?

Longtime fans of the series already know Ada Wong’s importance to Leon’s life. She has been a constant foil to Leon’s journey, but at the end of the day, these two always go hand in hand with each other, beating any big bad that comes out their way in the most badass way possible: blowing it up with a rocket launcher.

We don’t know what Requiem’s story will be about, except that we go back to the place where it all began. Raccoon City is no place for an FBI analyst like Grace, so she needs all the help she can get. Leon is already a good enough choice to brave through the biological horrors again (he can just suplex zombies), but the other bigwigs like Chris, Claire, and Jill are still M.I.A. Ada Wong’s appearance is likely possible in Resident Evil Requiem, I say this with full confidence as I don a clown costume and makeup.

How Ada Wong Ties into Resident Evil Requiem

Ada still has a couple of loose ends in her triple-agent storyline, and it would be a disservice to her character if Capcom doesn’t expand on that. Her connections to the (checks notes) Connections is still a major mystery. How does it tie to the entirety of the Raccoon City conspiracy? There is still plenty we don’t know about this shadow organization, and Requiem will likely reveal new details on that piece of lore that we missed since Resident Evil 6.

This iconic Resident Evil pair must return to Requiem, albeit only momentarily. Their reunion should not overshadow Grace Ashcroft’s importance. I could already see Ada’s presence as more of a cameo appearance than a playable character. Or who knows? Maybe a DLC like RE4's Separate Ways could fit Requiem’s narrative.

With rumors circulating that Rose Winters will make an appearance in Requiem, the narrative is  packed with major characters, potentially taking the focus off its main storyline. If Requiem seems like Capcom’s way of saying goodbye to the iconic Raccoon City storyline, then it should end on a high note with characters that directly tie in to its grand conspiracy.

And Ada Wong is the ideal candidate to return.
