Black Ops 7 officially comes out on Friday, November 14th, but many players are already enjoying the new title using a method available every year: the New Zealand method. Luckily, this tactic doesn't involve getting on a flight to the island country.

Here is what you need to do to get access to the game now and start grinding for camos, progressing on the campaign, or play your first attempt in Ashes of the Damned.

How to Play Black Ops 7 Early with the New Zealand Method?

For starters, the New Zealand won't work for anyone who purchased the game on Battle.net or Steam, as the game will go live simultaneously on those platforms on November 13 at 9:00 PM PT (November 14 at 5:00 AM GMT).

If you are on an Xbox console or on PC using the Xbox app, having purchased the game on the Xbox Store or getting the game through PC Game Pass, you will first need to do this:

  • Log in to your Activision account on the Call of Duty website using this link.
  • Go to the Basic Info tab.

  • You will see an Address option on the information listed. Hit Edit and enter a New Zealand address, and save it.

Now, here is what you need to do for each platform:

Xbox

  • Once your Call of Duty account's address is changed, get on your Xbox console and go into Settings.
  • Select System, and then go into "Language and Location".
  • Go into "Location" and select New Zealand.
  • Select "Restart Now" to reboot the console and apply the changes.
  • Once that's done, you should be able to enter the game if you preloaded it.

PC (Xbox Store or PC Game Pass)

  • Start your PC and go into Settings.
  • Go to the "Time & Language" tab, select "Language & Region", and under the Region category, change the Country or Region combobox to New Zealand.

  • Restart your PC to apply the changes.
  • Once you open the Xbox app, the currency should appear as New Zealand Dollars. Now you should be able to start playing.

PlayStation

The New Zealand method doesn't usually work on PlayStation. However, some outlets are reporting it works on PlayStation 5, so here is what you need to do:

  • Change your region on your Activision account from the Call of Duty website, as explained before.
  • Check if you can play the game on your console.

You can purchase a copy of Black Ops 7 using this link if you are based in the USA, or this link for anyone based in the UK.
