ARC Raiders has dominated the gaming scene over the past few days, with various YouTubers and content creators playing its latest Tech Test.
As well as showcasing impressive graphics and intense action-packed gameplay, some of the hype surrounding ARC Raiders stems from its developer, Embark Studios, which is behind the highly popular and successful multiplayer FPS, The Finals.
So, what exactly is ARC Raiders all about, and when is it releasing? Below, we've covered all the key details so you can learn more about this exciting upcoming title.
What Is ARC Raiders?
ARC Raiders is an upcoming third-person multiplayer extraction shooter set in a future version of Earth, which has been taken over by mysterious, lethal robots known as the ARC.
Offering an intense gameplay experience filled with mystery and exploration, ARC Raiders sees players take on the role of a Raider, funnily enough. Forced underground to survive, Raiders scavenge the deadly surface above as they look to build their home in the underground neighborhood of Speranza.
With various tasks to tackle and loot to obtain, players can shape their legacy as a Raider through leveling up their character by completing quests and successfully extracting during each run. Traders also allow players to exchange looted items for gear and crucial upgrades to their underground den, but of course, everything comes at a price.
If you thought it was just unforgiving robots that await you on the outside, think again. That's because fellow player-controlled Raiders will also be exploring the troubled lands, and the likelihood is they won't be friendly.
When Is ARC Raiders Releasing?
At the time of writing, ARC Raiders is currently going through its second Tech Test ahead of a planned 2025 release, although a fixed launch date is yet to be announced.
Expected to come with a $40 price tag, ARC Raiders will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with crossplay fully supported.
Tech Test 2 is still ongoing and runs until May 4, so if you want to try out ARC Raiders for yourself, you'll need to be quick! Here's how you can apply for access to the Tech Test:
- Select 'Sign up for Tech Test 2' on the ARC Raiders website.
- Choose which platform you wish to sign up with.
- Sign in to your account.
- Complete the registration process.
Unfortunately, it's not guaranteed that you will receive an invite code despite signing up for one. However, it's more than likely that Embark Studios will run another Tech Test in the future, or even an Alpha or Beta version, so don't feel too disheartened if you miss out.
