It is the pre-release cycle for Black Ops 7, and like every other Call of Duty before it, we'll only hear nice things about it during this phase. From an extensive catalogue of guns to the ability to carry forward your items, the shooter is trying to make the right noise.

In terms of maps, it brings the expected amount, with most of them being new and a couple of classic three-lane maps we have adored since Black Ops 2. We've listed all the maps that have been confirmed for the Black Ops 7 launch below.

Black Ops 7 will launch with a total of 18 maps, which include 16 6v6 maps, and the remaining two will be reserved for the large-scale Skirmish mode.

Of the 16 maps for the traditional modes, 13 are brand new, and the other three are classics in Raid, Hijacked, and Express.

  • Black Heart
  • Colossus
  • Cortez
  • Den
  • Dry Dock
  • Exposure
  • Express
  • Hijacked
  • Homestead
  • Imprint
  • Paranoia
  • Raid
  • Retrieval
  • Scar
  • The Forge
  • Toshin
  • Mission Edge (Skirmish)
  • Mission Tide (Skirmish)

Skirmish is a 20v20 objective-based mode, similar to Ground War. While the multiplayer side of things will not have jetpacks, Skirmish will have wingsuits and grappling hooks to help you scale down these massive maps. Expect other things like ground and air vehicles as well.

All the remastered maps are slightly tuned to suit the new setting, like Raid is now reimagined as a once-tranquil Tokyo setting in near-future Japan.

In terms of design philosophy for core multiplayer maps, Activision noted in their announcement, "Black Ops 7 Multiplayer maps are designed to breathe more, with enough space for players to fully explore the expanded Omnimovement system while still delivering the tight, cover-to-combat that defines Black Ops."

We'll have to at least wait until the beta to see how it all plays out. However, the wording and everything else revealed so far hint at a more classic map design philosophy, even if it isn't explicitly a three-lane layout. All of this was also implied for Black Ops 6.

Regardless, it has a nice amount of maps to get going, and even if the new batch fails to flatter us, we can always look towards the beloved classic remasters.

That's everything there is to know about the maps in Black Ops 7 so far. We will continue to learn more, including full gameplay, as we approach closer to its release.
