Black Ops 7 Carry Forward System Explained

With two games within the same sub-series releasing back-to-back, Black Ops 7 will let you carry forward your grind from BO6. It is all similar to what we had during the MW3 release, which launched immediately after MW2.

Whether Black Ops 7 also ends up being a heavily iterative entry like MW3 or mixes things up nicely remains to be seen. You won't, however, need much time to get going or plan any grind with the Carry Forward feature.

Here's how it works.

What is Carry Forward in Black Ops 7?

First introduced in MW3, Carry Forward features bring all your unlocked guns and other items like skins to the next title. So far, they're only done when games within the same sub-series are released, one after the other.

For Black Ops 7, it means you'll see all your grinded weapons and several items from BO6.

Keep in mind that this is different from what we usually see in Warzone, as newer mainline titles "integrate" into the game instead of being fresh releases. You can continue to use the current lot of guns from MW2, MW3, and BO6 even after all the new stuff from Black Ops 7 gets added following the release of Season 1.

Black Ops 6 XP Tokens and GobbleGums will carry forward at the launch of Black Ops 7. Meanwhile, Weapons, Operators, and Operator Skins will carry forward at the start of Season 1.

There are some exceptions to this:

  • Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content unavailable in Black Ops 7 will not carry forward.
  • Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content updated for Black Ops 7 (for example, a Scorestreak that performs similarly, but has a different look and feel in BO7 compared to BO6) will not carry forward.
  • Black Ops 6 Weapon Camos will not be transferable to Black Ops 7 weapons, but still usable on Black Ops 6 weapons.

Will CoD Points (CP) carry over to Black Ops 7?

While not billed under the "Carry Forward" feature, you can expect to see all your unused CoD Points in Black Ops 7. They've historically been carried over and between different subseries as well.

So, as long as you are playing under the same account, you should see plenty of stuff from Black Ops 6 and your Points when playing Black Ops 7
