Battlefield 6 Season 1 patch notes

Season 1 brings a redesigned Battle Pass that reworks how rewards are earned in Battlefield 6.

Players progress from the Recruit section into four 22-tier paths and ultimately complete the Ultimate and Prestige mastery tracks.

You’re free to follow whichever route feels best, with rewards ranging from practical gear to skins, vehicles, and XP perks.

Season 1 presents 100+ progression levels where players can claim both free and premium rewards as they play.

How Does Progression Work?

Players earn “Battle Pass Points” by playing multiplayer (and the companion free-to-play mode), completing weekly challenges, and accumulating XP.

Every point moves progress one tier within any unlocked path. The free track unlocks key functional items (like weapons), while purchasing the Premium Battle Pass grants access to all tiers plus extra features.

You can also step up to the “BF Pro” version, which includes tier skips, boosted XP, unique items, and dedicated server access.

Thanks to its branching structure, players can prioritize specific weapons or skins first and return later to finish the rest.

What Are the Included Paths & Major Rewards?

  • Recruit (5 tiers): This is the introductory segment. Even free players unlock items like in-game currency and a new sidearm, while Premium players gain a top-tier weapon package right away. Finishing this path unlocks access to the main four.
  • Four main paths (each 22 tiers):
  • Rogue Operations: Ideal if the new carbine is the priority. Premium users unlock a new Pax Armata Assault soldier. Free players can earn the SOR-300C carbine later in the path.
  • Deniable Operations: Most of the focus is on covert gear, with the premium tier granting access to a Pax Armata Recon soldier. Free users eventually get a sniper weapon package.
  • Soldiers of Fortune: The paid tier embraces that big-spender, loot-focused tone with a melee skin, whereas the Mini Scout rifle sits as the main reward for free users.
  • Pacific Ghosts: Premium players unlock a Pax Armata Engineer soldier first, while free players receive an Assault skin and other practical gear afterward.
  • Ultimate (7 tiers): Unlocks after clearing all four main paths. Offers high-end weapon packages, skins, and other premium rewards, with a mix of free items too.
  • Prestige (10 tiers): It’s largely for completionists, bundling cosmetics, boosts, and premium rewards as a final pat on the back.

What’s the Difference Between Free, Premium, and BF Pro?

The free tier guarantees that players who don’t pay still earn worthwhile rewards like core weapons, select skins, and XP boosts.

Purchasing the premium pass unlocks every tier, including exclusive tracks and rewards, and provides a baseline XP boost.

Choosing BF Pro unlocks tier skips, a stronger XP bonus, exclusive challenges and gear, and expanded hosting or custom-server privileges.

Season 1 expands past its initial six by adding two limited-time paths mid-season.

“California Resistance” arrives in November and “Ice Lock” in December, each packed with new guns, cosmetics, and themed rewards.

These sustain player activity across the whole season, not only on day one.

Since path order is flexible, you can shape your journey by prioritizing whichever weapon or skin catches your eye.

It makes sense to go after the tiers with strong gameplay value first, like the new gun packages, and save the cosmetic rewards for later.
