- Key Update: Two new Champions, Akali and Senna, have been officially revealed for 2XKO’s roster.
- Status: Confirmed (Official Dev Blog)
- Last Verified: February 13, 2026
- Quick Answer: Despite the somber news of team-wide layoffs, Riot Games is pushing forward with content. Akali is confirmed as the next champion to join the roster, followed by Senna.
2XKO might have a disappointing launch by Riot's standards, leading to massive layoffs within the team, but the support isn't stopping anytime soon, as two new Champions have just been revealed: Akali and Senna.
Revealed on February 13 after leaks spoiled the surprise, Akali will be the next Champion to join 2XKO's small roster. She's a highly mobile ninja that looks to have incredible mixup potential due to her teleporter and an insanely fast dash speed.
As for Senna, she looks like a character designed to dominate the mid-range and rushdown using her wraith form once she finds an opening.
Akali & Senna 2XKO Release Date
At the time of writing, there are no confirmed release dates for either Akali or Senna in 2XKO.
The developers confirmed that Akali is coming first, so hopefully it's happening in the next few weeks.
Local Duo Mode & Balance Changes
The rest of the update, penned by Game Director Shaun Rivera, went over some of the changes coming to 2XKO in the future.
The team is working on a Local Duo mode that will let players boot up ranked and casual together. It's surprising the game didn't ship with such a function, but it's nice that the 2XKO dev team is working on improving a core aspect of the game's selling point.
As for balance changes, Rivera stated that they will always strive to keep the game a high skill ceiling; however, Champions like Ekko and Yasuo are perhaps a tad too good. While not going into specifics, he confirmed they will be getting hits with more nerfs in the future.
