2XKO is entering a new closed beta this September 9. This time, however, the game won't be taken offline barring any maintenance ahead of its impending full release later down the line. The beta will also introduce the latest Champion to join the roster: Vi.

Confirmed by Riot Games on July 22, 2XKO fans will be able to sign up for this new Closed Beta on PC. If lucky, they'll get access on September 9, but fret not if you didn't get in as more players will be granted access throughout the closed beta period. The beta will be available worldwide. If you've already accessed the game via the previous Alpha Labs, you are guaranteed to get int.

As mentioned, Riot also unveiled a brand-new Champion, Vi. The pick is a rather obvious and perhaps even uninteresting one. The Champion has featured prominently in many media outside League of Legends, being one of the main characters of the Arcane Netflix show.

2XKO already features the likes of Ekko and Jinx, so adding Vi, who has a playstyle that can be easily translated into fighting games, seemed like a no-brainer.

Sadly for console players, the closed beta period won't come to either Xbox or PlayStation 5. However, if you do decide to give the game a shot via PC, there will be crossprogression enabled so you can bring everything you've earned to your platform of choice when the game officially launches. Speaking of which.

When Is 2XKO Coming Out?

Sadly, we don't have an official release date for 2XKO. It is expected that the game hits 1.0 later this year, probably closer to the end of 2025, but until we have a date set in stone, it's all mere speculation. Riot Games will undoubtedly want to put out 2XKO in the hands of many players as soon as possible, considering Arc System Works' Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls looms on the horizon, a direct competitor within the fighting game genre, as both appeal to fans of tag fighters.
