When discussing Pokemon Legends Z-A, one hardly thinks of dark and scary moments, given that it is a game with softer visuals, streets filled with vibrant Lumiose friendships, and urban vibes. If there's a city in the Kalos region where horror and mystics should be left behind, that's probably Lumiose City.
But alas, even the latest Pokemon game isn't safe from the realms of disturbing and dark moments, and once you encounter these, you shudder either at the sheer visuals of it or at the implications. This is that list, and blessed are the lucky ones who missed these instances.
What Are the Darkest & Most Disturbing Moments in Pokemon Legends Z-A?
Seeing how Pokemon Legends Z-A is chock-full of content, with side missions and NPC dialogues, there are a lot of moments in the game that can be considered disturbingly terrifying, but stand-outs include the Litwick side mission, the dark Pokedex entries exclusive to this title, or Jacinthe being a kidnapper (kinda).

Litwick, Life Energy Scoundrels!

If you opt to take Side Mission 85, which I don't recommend if you are fainthearted, a kid named Consei tells you that his sister has been missing for some time, and a Litwick prompts you to follow it all the way to the sewers of Lumiose City. Pennywise much?
Upon reaching the end of the sewers, you will see a scene reminiscent of the Blair Witch Project, where a kid is standing still with Litwick surrounding her. That is, in fact, Consei's sister, voluntarily giving her life force to the hungry Litwick. Adorable? Maybe. But definitely disturbing. Not only that, but after the dialogue, you faint (assuming a Litwick also took your life force), and when you wake up, a jumpscare awaits.
Yveltal Looking Down Upon Us

When you finish the base game, L is waiting for you in the hotel lobby and tells you the tale of two legendary Pokemon and how they have been sighted in Lumiose City. So you listen and decide to take on "The One That Takes" storyline. You finish the pre-requisite missions and beat the Rogue Mega Evolution battles.
What's next? Go to one of the roofs in Rouge District 2 and see that the dark Pokemon, known for absorbing life from other Pokemon to power itself, is casually flying around the area as if looking for its next meal. What are you waiting for? Catch it before it starts digging in!
Jacinthe Is a Kidnapper?

The answer is a highly probable yes, unfortunately. There are multiple instances in the game where Jacinthe can be seen setting up purple Holo Caster walls around you or other characters when she decides they cannot leave. Okay....
Further proof of this is her narcissistic obsession with finishing her own little tournament by stalking and intimidation. And don't forget that she has her own "servant" whom she orders around in an almost abusive manner, all the while serving creepy smiles herself.
Mega Dark Pokedex Entries

Now let's talk about sinister implications with the help of our trusty Pokedex. Some of the darkest Pokedex entries include Mega Dragalge, where it is stated that it spits poison acid, where the regenerative power of cells of those around it just runs wild, and can be deadly except to itself.
Another one is Mega Starmie, where it's implied that it's human-like movement is an unclear indication of attempts at communicating or human life supplantation. And lastly, for now, we have Mega Chandelure, where one of its eyes is a window to the afterlife. Excuse me, what?
Rogue Mega Evolution Is Not Fun for Pokemon

One of the main gimmicks of the Pokemon Legends Z-A title is the Rogue Mega Evolution battles, where you and other members of Team MZ engage in raid-style combat with Mega-evolved Pokemon and get the stone afterwards. Honestly, it's both fun and cool!
But let's not forget that Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokemon are victims of spontaneous mega evolving and something outside their control. It is also mentioned multiple times that this phenomenon is very painful. So epic as it is, our enjoyment comes at the expense of the Pokemon we beat to surrender while suffering physically by themselves already.

Pokemon games have always been a digital imagery of whimsy, action, and cuteness, but every now and then, we get these really dark and disturbing moments that chill us to the bones by hitting us when we least expect it, and the above examples, whether you admit it or not, are some of the creepiest in the series.
