With SCUM 1.0 out, there are a lot of new players around who don't know what they're doing. After all, players must first learn the basics. It's how every new experience works.
Even the simplest tasks, such as rotating through items, can be daunting. But, don't worry: we're here to help. Keep on reading to find out how to utilize the item rotation system.
As with any survival games like SCUM, managing your inventory will be a priority as you need all the space you can get, and all the items you can fit. This is perhaps the key to continued survival in a harsh and dangerous in-game world. However, it is limited, and you can only carry so much on you (like in the real world), even with the help of a bag.
How to Rotate Items in SCUM
To start, you can open your inventory by pressing Tab. In the beginning of your first playthrough, you'll only have your SCUM orange clothes, with barely any inventory space. Once you find good clothes and bags, you'll have more space for your items.
To rotate an item, you'll need to hold the left click to select it. Continue holding the left click, then press the left control button on your keyboard. You can then scroll your mouse wheel up or down to rotate the item, and it will rotate in 90-degree increments. Once you have it in the desired orientation and position, you can let go of the left click.
Some players may find this problematic, as it requires at least three fingers to perform, unlike DayZ, which only requires the left click and space to rotate. There is an auto-rotate function in SCUM, which automatically places the item (if available). This is good for quick organization, but it's always best to optimize your inventory by manually moving and rotating your items.
