Season 6 will kick off the new year in Marvel Rivals, bringing a few interesting additions to the hero shooter. Now that the dev video has dropped, we have a pretty good idea of what´s coming to the game this time, even though some details were announced last year at The Game Awards 2025.
We have compiled all the important information in one place so you can get up to speed and prepare accordingly.
When Does Marvel Rivals Season 6 Start?
Marvel Rivals Season 6 is scheduled to come out on Friday, January 16th, for all platforms. A maintenance period will begin at 1:00 AM PT (9:00 AM GMT) and will last between two to three hours.
During this period, players will be able to download the respective patch, but the game won't be accessible until the downtime is over.
New Heroes: Deadpool
Deadpool is headlining this season as the newest playable character, and he is an interesting one, since he can assume any of the three roles. You can watch his cinematic trailer to get a look at the design below:
Elsa Bloodstone was also mentioned during the dev video, but it's unclear if the character will come out in this season's second half or in the future. Regardless of that, Deadpool will be available once the new season starts for all players.
New Map: Museum of Contemplation
A new map titled Museum of Contemplation will be added on Friday, January 29, through a small update. This is a Convoy map and suits this season's theme, as it's titled Night at the Museum.
A video overview of the different areas of the map should come out a few days before its release.
Times Square Updates
Here are some of the additions and updates coming to the Times Square social hub map that were added in Season 5:
- A photo mode will be available while playing in the hub
- A new area titled The Clobberin' Club will be added with the January 29 update. Players can challenge others to duel in the club, and if someone spends a small fee of Units, the match will be broadcast on Times Square's screens.
Team-Up Abilities
The season will add two new Team-Up abilities, which you can read about below:
- Parker Power-Up (Peni Parker and Spider-Man): Spider-Man receives a Web-Bomb, and it starts a countdown when it's activated. If the Spider-Man player throws it before the timer ends, it deals damage in its nearby radius. If they don't, Spidey gains a Web-Cluster charge and a small amount of bonus health.
- Mr. Pool's Interdimensional Toy Box (Deadpool and Jett the Shark): When activated, Jett spits out a toy that sprays water around it. This area heals allies and creates visual interference in the HUD of enemies, showing Deadpool cartoons.
Zhiyong teased during the dev video that an old Team-Up ability of Doctor Strange will be brought back in February with the Season 6.5 update.
On the other hand, the following existing Team-Ups will get adjusted:
- The Ever-Burning Bond (Human Torch and Spider-Man): This Team-Up will be removed.
- Rocket Network (Rocket Raccoon and Star-Lord): Peni Parker will be removed.
