The latest update for Marvel Rivals has left one hero in a tough spot, and it's none other than Peni Parker.
She used to be a decent tank with great area control, but recent changes have significantly altered her playstyle. While other heroes got buffs, Peni's adjustments feel like a nerf and make her one of the weakest tanks right now.
Before this update, Peni Parker was far from OP, but she had a specific niche that made her useful in the right hands. One of her strongest tools was her Arachno-Mine, which allowed her to place explosive traps that could zone enemies.
However, the latest changes allow these mines to be destroyed mid-activation, so opponents don't even need to worry about avoiding them anymore. What used to be a dangerous trap is now just an inconvenience that players can easily clear with basic attacks.
Peni's mines used to disappear when placed in particular ways with her webs. The fix was meant to solve that, but it looks like it went too far, wiping out their durability unless they're placed directly on a web.

Some players pointed out that characters such as Cloak, Storm, and Spider-Man can now clear her mines instantly using their abilities.
One user thinks Wolverine’s ult might work the same way, but the community is still testing if it interacts with her traps.
It's still unclear whether NetEase thinks these changes were a mistake or a planned rework.
If they were meant to balance her, they might have done the opposite—Peni Parker is now in one of the weakest positions she's ever been in.
