Loki is a Strategist in Marvel Rivals, and while you’d expect his abilities to fundamentally be related to healing, he also has certain traits that not only allow him to damage his enemies but also create confusion and panic for the opponent team at large. To achieve this, he tends to rely on his deceptive abilities—fair when you learn he’s known as the God of Mischief.

That being said, Loki is a character that is meant to be played strategically. His plethora of abilities will only prove to be fatal for his opponents if you have a fundamental knowledge of the game. In this article, we’ll be covering everything there is to playing Loki in Marvel Rivals. Read on to learn more.

1. Mystical Missile

Mystical Missile is Loki’s primary attack. The good thing about this ability is that it can perform two functions: when the projectiles hit their enemies, they deal a damage output of 30. When they hit his allies, though, they heal 40 HP within a 3-meter radius.

Another thing to note here is Loki’s illusions. When they’re active, they can also duplicate this ability, firing multiple rockets at a consistent rate, virtually doubling or tripling the overall output of the Mystical Missile.

Should the ability damage an opponent, it can force them to reposition and create gaps for your teammates. In case of healing, you can quickly regenerate their health pools.

2. Deception

Deception comes in handy when you want to reposition or retreat from a battle you know you can’t afford. As the name suggests, Deception allows Loki to deceive his enemies. He does this by leaving an illusion at his last position, whereby the original character goes into invisibility. During his time being invisible, Loki can regenerate 20 HP per second.

Additionally, you won’t see him come back to his visible form until he attacks, summons a Doppelganger, or uses Devious Exchange.

3. Doppelganger

Another ability that’s kind of similar (and complimentary) to the previous one we discussed is doppelganger. The description’s in the name. With Doppelganger, Loki can form stationary illusions of himself that copy his primary attack, alongside certain abilities.

While these illusions have a maximum limit of 2 and can remain active for merely a minute (unless destroyed), they do a great job of deceiving and confusing Loki’s enemies. In crucial situations where Loki has to retreat or force his enemies to reposition, this ability becomes all the more potent for the entire team.

4. Devious Exchange

This is an ability that can conditionally complement Loki, mobility-wise. Through Devious Exchange, Loki can swap positions with one of his active illusions within a 30-meter range, allowing him to maneuver intensive situations or confuse his enemies in case they get the jump on him. It can also be used to surprise and counter his enemies.

Additionally, it can be used as an element of surprise. Most players won’t take an illusion that seriously until they come close enough in your range of attack, allowing you to surprise and deal significant damage to them.

5. Regeneration Domain

This ability performs more of a healing and supportive role for Loki and his teammates. Powered by Rune Stones, Loki’s able to create a field around himself and his illusions, regenerating their health by 100 HP every second. Additionally, he can also heal his teammates, provided they’re within a 5-meter radius.

An add-on with this ability is the capability to convert 30% of incoming damage into bonus healing, further guaranteeing Loki and his teammates' durability.

That being said, since the field’s powered by Rune Stones, enemy players can destroy it. So it’s crucial to be strategic about where you place them.

6. God of Mischief (Ultimate)

The final ability to discuss from his unique skill set is his Ultimate, known as the God of Mischief. Through this Ultimate, Lokcanto transforms into an enemy’s or an ally’s character for 15 seconds. Additionally, he can also use all their abilities except the Team-Up ones.

Another buffy advantage of this Ultimate is the transformed hero’s Ultimate, which is fully charged when Loki mimics their form.

Loki's Best Team-Ups in Marvel Rivals

Loki has certain allies who further complement his role and make him more potent against enemies. We’ve discussed some of them below.

Hela

Since both Loki and the Asgardian Goddess are essentially siblings, they work pretty well when paired up. When in battle, if Hela manages to defeat an opponent, she’s able to revive or grant bonus health to both Loki and Thor. This Team-Up ability is known as Laufeyson Reborn, and it allows Loki to take more risks, challenge, and win more battles against his opponents.

Thor

While these brothers are often portrayed as rivals in movies or comics, they’re quite an effective pair-up on the battlefield. Their combined synergy in Ragnarok Rebirth ensures Loki can sustain himself while Thor absorbs damage, allowing for extended engagements.

Scarlet Witch

While Scarlet Witch can manipulate reality, Loki is able to deceive his opponents—a perfect pairing. Through the former’s abilities to stun her enemies and immobilize them, Loki can capitalize on his offensive skills. Additionally, he can also use this gap to place his deceptive doppelgangers in strategic locations.
