The much-loved board game Frosthaven is making its debut in the digital space.

Arc Games and Snapshot Games have announced a tactical RPG adaptation that brings the game’s strategy and co-op play to PC.

First revealed at the Future Games Show: Spring Showcase, the adaptation stays faithful to the original and refines the experience for digital platforms.

Isaac Childres designed Frosthaven as the sequel to Gloomhaven and raised nearly $13 million on Kickstarter in 2020, becoming one of its biggest tabletop successes.

Now, under the guidance of Julian Gollop from X-COM, Snapshot Games is handling the video game version, with Childres making sure it remains authentic.

Similar to its tabletop form, Frosthaven will push players with strategic combat, outpost management, and resource control. You can play solo or team up online with up to four players.

To make it through the game’s brutal world, players must carefully balance risk and reward and pick character classes that support one another.

The closed beta runs from March 27 to April 24, 2025, with six character classes, 20 quests, and early outpost mechanics.

Later this year, the game will launch in Steam Early Access, and Snapshot Games will adjust it based on player input.

The adaptation makes Frosthaven easier to get into without all the setup, but it still has the same strategy.

Long-time fans and newcomers alike can look forward to braving its icy world when it arrives on PC later this year.
