Gustave Clair Obscur

Lanceram

Lanceram is one of the best all-around weapons for Gustave because of its balanced stats. Also, it is available early in the game, giving you plenty of time to master it. After the death of Gustave, this weapon is also used by Verso later in the game. You can earn Lanceram early in the game by defeating a Lancelier in Spring Meadows. You can also buy a stronger version of Lanceram for 21,275 Chroma from Cruler in Coastal Cave.

Abysseram

If you prefer more defense-based builds, Abysseram is also a perfect pick. It has excellent scaling in both Vitality and Defense, and also gives +2 Vitality, which gives Gustave more HP. You can obtain Abysseram by defeating Bourgeon, who resides in the Flying Waters area. With a max power of over 3200 and strong defence, Abysseram allows you to dominate the field during early game stages.

Best Weapons for Lune

Onto the next character.

Trebuchim

Trebuchim is one of the best early game weapons for Lune because of its unique passive skills. It can inflict random Stains after Free Aim shots, which is effective to activate powerful skills like Elemental Genesis and other Stain-based abilities. You can acquire Trebuchim by taking down the Ranger and Catapult Stakapatates residing in the Ancient Sanctuary or by winning the Gestral Arena final fight as Lune.

Snowim

Snowim is a top-tier choice during mid or late game, especially if you use Lune as a healer or reviver. It restores HP at the start of her turn and even provides Stains and AP passively at higher levels. To obtain Snowim, you need to defeat Gargants in Frozen Hearts and Flying Manor.

Best Weapons for Maelle

Maelle

Maelle may have been nerfed but she's still one of the best characters in the game.

Medalum

Medalum is fantastic for Maelle during the early stages, as it gives her Virtuose Stance, which is Maelle’s main offensive mode. This means you can begin every battle ready to deal damage without having to waste AP switching stances. It also enhances Burn damage, which synergizes perfectly with her early skills that apply Burn on crit. You can get Medalum by completing the final fight in the Gestral Arena as Maelle.

Lithum

Lithum shines in the late game and allows Maelle to switch to Virtuose Stance on Counterattacks. It is ideal if you are skilled at parrying and want to stay offensive without burning extra AP. You can obtain Lithum after beating Alicia in The Reacher (to access this area, you need to reach Relationship Level 5 with Maelle).

Best Weapons for Sciel

Charnon

Charnon transforms Sciel into a critical hit monster. It guarantees 100% Crit Rate during Twilight, which pairs beautifully with skills like Sealed Fate. If you avoid taking damage, it offers a 20% passive damage boost, making her unstoppable in longer fights. You can purchase Charnon from Grour in Renoir’s Drafts after defeating him.

Tisseron

If you are aiming to stay in Twilight as often as possible, Tisseron is the go-to weapon. It boosts Twilight damage when you use Sun Skills and even grants an extra turn upon entering Twilight. This opens up more aggressive combos and allows Sciel to wipe enemies before they can respond. You can earn Tisseron by beating Sirene during the main story.

Best Weapons for Monoco

Monoco

Ballaro

Ballaro is the top support weapon for Monoco. Its passives at Level 10 and 20 provide extra AP to allies when Monoco uses Upgraded Skills or remains in the Almighty Mask. That consistent AP can increase the entire team's offense or defense every turn, making this weapon ideal for long fights or boss encounters. Luckily, you can acquire Ballaro by either beating Chromatic Glissando or purchasing it from Cribappa the Gestral Merchant in Act III.

Joyaro

Joyaro offers an aggressive alternative by starting Monoco in Almighty Mask and increasing Break damage. Like Charnon, it provides stacking damage bonuses for each turn you avoid being hit. This weapon turns Monoco into a Break-heavy offensive juggernaut, especially when paired with skills like Ramasseur Bonk.

Joyaro drops after defeating the Lampmaster boss in Flying Manor or the Ultimate Sakapatate in Endless Night Sanctuary. Pick this if you're building a risk-heavy, glass-cannon-style Monoco.

Best Weapons for Verso

Verso

Contorso

Contorso is a perfect weapon for players who like parrying. It turns your Base Attack into a Break move to scatter enemies, pushing you to Rank S, grants 100% Crit Rate, and adds lightning strikes on every crit. If you can maintain this Rank S, you can defeat any boss easily. It’s obtained by defeating the Contortionniste in The Chosen Path.

Simoso

Simoso is Verso’s ultimate weapon, but it unlocks during late-game stages. At level 20, it can make Verso immortal at Rank A or higher. It also adds an ethereal sword that performs follow-up strikes on many of his abilities, massively increasing his damage output. You can find it after beating Simon in The Abyss, which you can access through Renoir’s Drafts.
