ARC Raiders has successfully made it through its first weekend with little to no issues since its launch on October 30.
The game is just too much fun, and it's even better thanks to its impressive blend of PvE and PvP mechanics. Even to someone who’s new to Extraction Shooters, ARC Raiders’ addictive gameplay loop hooked me, and I can’t stop putting it down.

As the game reaches its apex with over 350,000 concurrent players on Steam, many have felt the full might of the Arcs, the alien robots that suddenly dropped onto our planet, ready to cleanse everything. These are ARC Raiders’ AI-controlled enemies, and they are a ferocious bunch of metalloids that are determined to shoot on sight.
While some players find it too annoying and frustrating when dealing with the ARCs, most players unanimously agree that preserving their strengths is part of the game’s charm. As a result, they begged Embark Studios to refuse any nerfs for these metallic monsters. Otherwise, what would be the point?
In the official ARC Raiders subreddit, players are already rallying not to nerf these ARCs. Some players argue that the machines “...are perfect just the way they are.” Nerfing them would degrade their threat levels, and they would likely turn into a bullet sponge rather than an actual foil to our run. Every player must fear these alien creatures, and the mere sight of a Leaper, Rocketeer, or Bastion should put them on edge.

Like a War of the Worlds situation, these machines rain down on unsuspecting Raiders, potentially ruining their flow, or worse, ending their run, dropping all the loot they have forever. They come in different shapes and sizes, and if you’ve seen the gameplay trailers and streams from your favorite content creator, you can see how menacing they all are. From the minuscule Tick to the imposing Queen, taking each down requires careful planning, or else you’d risk alerting the horde to your location.
These Arc machines aren’t that hard, to be honest. In between the looting and shooting, they are easily telegraphed and can be avoided if you know how to play your cards right. Dealing with Wasps and Snitches is easy, since you can just shoot down the rotors in their body for an easy kill. More powerful ones like Bombardier and Bastion might need the help of an entire squad or full coordination with random Raiders. Nerfing them would really devolve ARC Raiders’ gameplay loop, and there would be no point to the game at all.

ARC Raiders’ unique moments are built around its mixture of PvE and PvP, and it’s through these that players encounter cinematic and unscripted moments. The ARCs are simply part of the fun, and it’s a great call that players are already rallying the developers not to nerf these machines. After all, the game is just getting started, and its roadmap shows that more dangerous Arcs are coming in future updates.
