ARC Raiders has been a blast to play since its launch. Every day, there are still more things to be done, including running away from the terrifying Arcs or going ballistic against toxic PvP players.
As the game continues to push out new content every month, including the recently added Stella Montis map, more players have been asking Embark to add one of the game’s most bizarre missing features: loadouts.
Don’t mistake this for “Free Loadouts,” as that is essentially a different feature that alleviates mourning from our lost gear on the next run. What ARC Raiders badly need right now are customizable quick loadouts that don’t require us to browse our inventory and craft our favorite tools again.
This simple quality of life update would gradually reduce severe hoarding in a player’s inventory. Embark adding customizable loadouts can save everyone a lot of time, removing any semblance of frustration after being knocked down by a toxic PvP rat waiting near the extraction point.

It has been one of the things I’ve badly needed in a game like ARC Raiders. It’s a game filled with thousands of loot, and my tiny brain can’t comprehend everything all at once. I even ended up recycling important items like the Sentinel Firing Core and Rusted Gear just to make more inventory space.
Would prepared loadouts ruin the game’s core mechanic? I don’t think so. While loot and weapon scavenging are essential in ARC Raiders, there’s also an issue with time, especially for players who play the game casually. Dying from a run, then having to browse our three-page inventory just to find the same items we brought in the last run, doesn’t feel rewarding at all. In fact, it adds to the frustration, and it causes some players (including me) to lose interest in bringing some of my best gear.
While I’m thankful for Embark adding unlimited ‘free loadout’ kits, I’d be more than happy if they finally add actual customizable loadouts and presets so I can just get on and start my next run with a quick button press.

ARC Raiders isn’t a perfect game. No game is. Clearly, there are more things Embark needs to do to make ARC Raiders a seamless extraction shooter experience. Highly requested quality-of-life options, like allowing us to quick craft weapons and gear (without having to browse our workbenches), will save players a lot of time and frustration. But in the meantime, they need to address a loadout option, at least players would know where Embark is headed in future updates.
With the December update coming very soon, we might see Embark implement this feature alongside the winter event. If not, well, we’ll have to wait next year.
